Cycas is the type genus. The best known species is Cycas revoluta or Sago Palm. It is the most widely cultivated. Concentrated in the equatorial regions of the world. Unique in that female plants do not form seed cones,but rather a group of leaf-like structures each with seeds on the lower margins, and pollen cones on the males. Leaflet are articulated with a midrib.
