Lasiantha Preserved

Common name in Austrailia is native orange. The genus Capparis is well known through the exotic species C. spinosa. The pickled buds of that species are know as "capers" which is widely used as a foods flavouring.

C. lasiantha is usually a small to medium shrub up to 9 feet tall. The leaves are dark green and oblong in shape. The nectar in the flowers is used to treat colds in some Aboriginal tribes.
